4. Emergency management, and activation of urgent works Intervention has been managed following an hybrid structural-hydraulic strategy, divided in operative phases:

Phase 1 – Hydraulic protection and floor stabilization A barer made of soil and gravel has been built in the riverbed, to divert river flow during dry season, pushing it away from the damaged bridge’s column (Fig.5), then have been brought and put down several huge rock boulders, disposing them as a crown around the damaged column. This cliff had the dual function of stopping progressive erosive digging, and to provide a first mechanic contrast to foundation movement.
