The load was applied at the extrados of the arch, 79.7 cm from the springing. The vertical displacements (P 1 , P 2 , P 3 , P 4 , P 5 , P 6 ) in 6 points of the arch extrados (Fig. 3) and the relative tangential (L6, L7, L8 and L9) and radial (L 2 , L 3 , L 4 and L 5 ) displacements between the arch and the haunching (Fig. 4) are measured by LVDTs (Linear Variable Displacement Transducer). The P 7 measures the horizontal displacements of the whole specimen. The measurements instrumentation configuration is presented in Fig. 3.
