3.4. Initial imperfection To take into account the initial imperfections of the infill plate, a combination of mode shapes is taken into account on the SPSW specimen (Mohebkhah and Azandariani, 2016). To do this, first, the specimen is buckling analyzed, and then first buckling shape mode is used in the FE model using KEYWORD commands in the ABAQUS application (Azandariani et al., 2021). 3.5. FE setting The FE method is a suitable numerical technique for investigating the global behavior of steel and concrete structures (Nayel et al., 2022). In this study, trapezoidal vertical corrugated steel plate shear wall (Emami et al., 2013) using the Finite Element Model (FEM) with ABAQUS. The experimental result that became the reference for verification was hysterical behaviour. In FE modelling, welded joints, fish plates, and bolts connecting the infill plate to the beam and column are neglected. The mesh size used is 25 mm. The first boundary condition is applied to the bottom of the specimen and all the degrees of freedom (DoF) are fixed. The second boundary condition is applied to the top using a horizontal dynamic displacement with the amplitude in Fig. 5.
