2012). Figure 7 compare the acquisition obtained with the DIC and the strain profile measured by the optical fibre in the same zone. For both beams, the correspondence between deformation peaks and crack position is satisfactory and justifies the use of this instrument in the field of structural monitoring. In addition, the almost corresponding measured value between the steel and the fibre highlighted that it is possible to confirm the conservation of adhesion between the optical fibre and the element.
