Regularities of the change in oil pressure at the beginning and end of each of the sections of the pipeline, the volumetric flow rate of liquid in the pipeline from the linear dimensions of the through holes and their location on the pipeline route have been identified, and the corresponding mathematical models have been developed. The degree of environmental pollution during oil infiltration into the soil is estimated taking into account the physical properties of oil, the profile of the pipeline route, the volumetric productivity through the hole and the duration of the oil leak. © 2022 The Authors. Introduction The problems of safe operation of oil pipelines are associated with the properties of raw oil, namely: oil is a combustible product, so that there is always a fire hazard; oil vapors are characterized by a toxic effect on humans and animals; oil pollution of the lithosphere leads to the loss of soil fertile properties etc. There are many reasons leading to the violation of the integrity of pipelines, accompanied by oil leaks. The most common reasons include: mechanical damage; corrosion (external and internal); welded joint defects; operational errors; natural phenomena etc. ((Karpash et al. (2007); Yavorskyi et al. (2016); Poberezhnyi et al. (2017); Doroshenko et al.
