4. Researches to develop brake performance against fracture Braking system development has been done a lot, starting from the development of materials used and the construction of the braking system. Development carried out generally aims to improve performance in the form of the ability to release heat and friction resistance (Cai et al., 2020). 4.1. Increased disk brake endurance A holed disk brake used to improve the performance of cooling and durability (Boniardi et al., 2006). Moreover, by changing the type of material used will affect the friction resistance and conductivity value (Mackin et al., 2002), so the performance of the disk brake will increase (Venkatesh and Murugapoopathiraja 2019). When material changes, it is necessary to test the resistance to the environment. Such influences of contact with environmental materials such as water and air (Bian and Wu, 2015). In general, besides using metal, disk brakes can be made using composites. Composites used can also vary with many types of composites. (Ma et al., 2020). Also, modifications to the rotor used ceramic coating shown in Fig. 3 (Gorjan et al., 2016).

4.2. Increased brake shoe endurance Shoes are the main component that must be inspected routinely because they relate to safety and the relatively short useful life. The use of repeated braking will accelerate damage to the brake shoes. One standard method is to change the material used (Venkatesh and Murugapoopathiraja, 2019). Initially, the material used in brake shoes is organic material (Zhang et al., 2010). But along with the development of research conducted shows that material with primary metal is a pretty good braking solution (Zhang et al., 2010). In a simple brake shoe that must meet the category of resistance is quite good, the use of composites can produce better performance compared to using metal (Karthikeyan et al., 2019). The brake shoes will receive the pressure shown in Fig. 4.
