The ratcheting strain is calculated based on the work done by Hongwel et al. (2019) and Xiaohui et al. (2016). = ( + ) 2 (3) The behavior of ratcheting strain with number of cycles at various displacements is shown in Figure 14. It is observed that there is a negligible increase in the ratcheting strain at 20 mm displacement. The increase in ratcheting strain is significant at 35 mm and is even higher at 50 mm displacement. Hence, it may be inferred that the ratcheting strain rate is higher at higher displacements. It is also observed that the ratcheting strain stabilizes after 14 cycles at 35 mm displacement.
