The tests were carried out on the SRV-5 tribometer (see Figure 2) under the conditions defined in ASTM G204 standard (ASTM, 2021). Each configuration was performed twice. The test conditions are the following: - Normal load: 25 N - Ball diameter: 10 mm - Maximal Hertzian pressure: 1360MPa - Contact Hertzian diameter: 186 µm - Slip peak-to-peak amplitude: 50 and 100 µm - Oscillation frequency: 13 Hz - Atmosphere: Air - Temperature: 20°C - Without lubrication - Number of cycles: 1 million (24 hours) During the test, the slip amplitude, normal and tangential loads, the coefficient of friction and the temperature are measured. After the test, the specimens are weighed, morphological analysed, 3D topographical analysed to evaluate the wear volume, wear surface on a section, and the wear depth (see examples in the figure 3).
