The project probably represents the first large-scale application of the methodology introduced by the Guidelines, applied so far exclusively on case studies or in any case on limited samples of bridges and viaducts, and is of fundamental importance: effective and efficient planning of the use of limited economic resources available for structural rehabilitation / seismic adaptation cannot in fact ignore the knowledge of the risk level of the existing works.
