3.2.2. Application The product application was carried out in the following stages: • application of the primer; • application of the product in at least two layer.
Surface cleaning have been carried out intensively through high pressure washing to remove any traces of paint, stripping additives and oils. The primer was applied after about 2 hours. After 30 minutes of applying the primer, the first coat of product was applied. Finally, after setting the first coat, the second coat was applied. Both layers of product were applied with spatula and brush.
3.3. Specimen C - Epoxy-primer
3.3.1. Type of Coating In this case the following layers represent the coating:
• two-component primer with filler; • two-component epoxy adhesive; • rubberized tapes with alkali resistant felt for the treatment of joints.
The primer used is a specific product for the treatment of concrete surfaces. With it a diffuse coating of all surfaces of the specimen was realized. The tapes, on the other hand, are characterized by a rubberized fabric impermeable to water and steam. The edges of the tape are made of felt. The rubber bands were applied using a double-layer epoxy adhesive. This product is suitable for waterproofing joints in structures and pipe crossings, thanks to its high elasticity.
