 Measurement of diameter of cable at each of the above points in X and Y direction. (Here X-direction refers to the direction parallel to axis of pulley/roller and Y-direction refers to the direction perpendicular to axis of pulley/roller)  Carrying out 10 cycles of deployment/retrieval test with 1100 kg load  Visual observation and measurement of diameter of cable at each of the above points in X and Y direction.  Carrying out 10 cycles of deployment/retrieval test with 1500 kg load  Visual observation and measurement of diameter of cable at each of the above points in X and Y direction.  Carrying out 100 cycles of deployment/retrieval with 2000 kg load  Visual observation and measurement of diameter of cable at each of the above points in X and Y direction.  Electrical and optical continuity checks. 5. Observations and Analysis of Measured Values All measured values are in mm. In all tests, point No: 5, 6 and 7 on the sample cables pass through the pulley/ rollers and is most affected during testing. Hence the dimensions are taken at these points before and after each test. The detailed measurements taken at these points in X and Y direction during each of the above tests is given below:- 5.1. Observations from Test No:1 & Test no:2 The measured diameters of indigenous cable samples in different locations marked no: 5,6 and 7 in both X and Y directions before and after test no:1 is given in table 3. During visual inspection after test a flat portion of width 25.5 mm was observed on the cable. Electrical and optical continuity checks after cyclic load test revealed that all signal lines, 14 power lines (out of 28) and 11 optical lines (out of 12) were damaged.

The measured diameters of imported cable samples in different locations marked no: 5,6 and 7 in both X and Y directions before and after test no:2 is given in table 4. Electrical and optical continuity checks after cyclic load test revealed that all electrical and optical lines were intact without any damage.
