5.3 Shock in X, Y and Z – Direction After carrying out the shock analysis, for three axis separately, the stress distribution are plotted. Figures 4 (a), (b), and (c) show the stress distribution for X, Y and Z axis are 32.2 MPa, 98.7 MPa and 177.6 MPa respectively on the Assy. mounting Bracket for shock load of 50 g with 18 ms. The table 2. Shows the von-Mises stress distribution for the mounting bracket, when the shock load is applied in three different axis.

It is to be noted that, from the shock analysis, when the shock load is applied in the Z direction, the maximum stress occurs as 177.6 MPa, is less than the Yield stress (210 MPa) of mounting bracket material.
