Regarding image analysis, in the Discrete Fourier Transform, the repetition rate of the cellular structure's periodicity is measured in terms of frequencies and , and from these values, the strain is calculated as follows (Salvini, P. et al. (2015)): = − (2) In Digital Image Correlation, the displacement of a portion of the image that has undergone deformation/translation within the original image is tracked.
