In the specific case, the starting data on each bridge were provided by the Provinces and the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria using "internal" survey forms, unfortunately not complete with all the information required by the sheets attached to the “Linee Guida”. The first operation carried out during the census phase consisted of geolocating the bridges and viaducts. This operation was particularly laborious because, except for the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria and the Province of Crotone, the information provided does not include the geographical coordinates of the infrastructures. For this reason, the geolocation operation was often carried out manually through the following steps when it was possible: • looking up on Google Maps the provincial road that the bridge/viaduct belongs to;

• marking the progressive kilometer at the beginning of the bridge/viaduct, rounded up or down, using the "Street View" display mode;
