The International Conference on Multiscale Materials Modeling (MMM), September 22-27, 2024, Prague Congress Center, Czech Republic is going to be organised by Institute of Physics of Materials of the Czech Academy of Sciences (Chairman: Assoc. Prof. Roman Groger) and it is supported European Structural Integrity Society (ESIS –Czech Republic branch, Assoc. prof. Stanislav Seitl).
The MMM series is the world’s largest conference series focused on different aspects of MMM. The MMM-11 has approximately 600 registered participants from around the world (June/2024). The conference will focus on both classical as well as new ground-breaking directions in the field. These are mainly: - Mathematical and computational foundation of multiscale methods - Probabilistic modeling and uncertainty quantification - Quantum mechanical studies of structure and properties of materials - Microscopic origins and multiscale modeling of plasticity, fracture and fatigue of materials - Multiscale studies of hard materials (crystalline, amorphous), soft and biological materials, multifunctional, hybrid materials and interfaces - Microstructure evolution across multiple length and time scales - Design of materials for energy conversion, harvesting and storage - Multiscale modeling of nuclear materials and radiation effects - Synergistic coupling of experiments with multiscale modeling - Relationships between micromechanisms and pattern formation - Hierarchical and nature-inspired materials - Additive manufacturing and emerging manufacturing methods - Materials informatics (machine learning, data mining and artificial intelligence) We are proud to host the following symposia celebrating the life-long contributions of outstanding materials scientists who have made seminal contributions to the field of multiscale materials modeling: - Vaclav Vitek honorary symposium on atomistic modeling of materials - Ladislas Kubin memorial symposium on microstructure evolution across multiple length scales There will be no formal proceedings from the conference. However, the interested attendees can submit their paper for consideration into a special issue of the journal Modelling and Simulations in Materials Science and Engineering.
