Main limits of the proposed model are the assumption of uniform corrosion and uncertainty on oxide volumetric expansion, the assumption of sudden drop of lateral pressure around bars at crack development and the bond strength linear reduction afterwards up to disengagement of bars when oxide occupies the ribs groove. Overall, this research provides valuable insights into how different factors influence the bond between corroded rebar and concrete. This can help researchers to plan future experimental activities and help engineers to design and maintain RC structures more effectively.
