Experimental Results In this section, the responses of the RC columns tested under constant axial load and lateral cyclic displacement reversals are presented in terms of damage evolution and column base moment versus drift ratio curves. It should be stated that since the axial load leads to considerable P- D effects, lateral strength of the specimen was defined as the maximum base moment reached during the experiment. Therefore, graphs are prepared with base moment, which includes second order effect, at vertical axis.
