Fig.6. Correlation between Shrinkage parameters and expansion of cement paste with different percentages of PA fibers at 45°C.
4. Conclusions This study examined the effect of adding bio-fiber from PA plant at elevated temeperatue (45°C).Several conclusions can be made: 1- The addtion of PA fibers decreases the shrinkage parameters ( DR-SH and AUT-SH) and expansion of cement paste. At 2% PA fibers addtion, the DR-SH, AUT-SH and expansion decreases by 2, 18.9 and 16.35% respectively compared to the control mix. This indicates the role of PA fibers in reduing cracks and limitting the shrinkage and expansion of cement paste. 2- A consistent and significant reduction in the ratio between shrinkage parameters (DR-SH and AUT-SH) and expansion (EXP) as the percentage of PA fibers increases. The observed decreases in ratios, such as from 0.6 to 0.52 for DR-SH/EXP and 0.57 to 0.54 for AUT-SH/EXP with the inclusion of 2% PA fibers, provide the pivotal role of PA fibers in effectively minimizing both expansion and shrinkages in the material.
