4. Geometrical Model The point cloud generated by the laser scanner was imported into AutoCAD software in .rcp format, to realize the geometric model of the bridge. Some properties of the cloud, such as point size, level of detail and transparency, were set. A horizontal section plane, cutting through the point cloud, was drawn approximately at 1 m height, to visualize the plan and the two facades of the bridge. Fig. 7(a) shows the plan with the contour lines of the piers and abutments in blue, while Fig. 7(b) shows the section with the contour lines of the arches and holes in red.

Subsequently, all the lines and arches were converted into polylines, resulting in the model in Fig. 8.
