Fractographic examination indirectly provides for visual assessment of the influence of the sample material formation conditions on the mechanical characteristics of the samples. The most representative fracture patterns of the experimental samples are shown in Fig. 4. The composition of the original thermite compositions largely determines the thermophysical conditions for the formation of the structure of the ingot obtained by alumothermy and, as a consequence, the differences in the sizes of the structural components and the nature of the fracture.
