Abstract This article describes the construction of an analytical solution for the problem of interaction of a viscoelastic pipe with a thin inner coating and a rigid insert. It is assumed that the pipe and rigid insert have axial symmetry, and their axes coincide. Insert radius and internal coating thickness depend on the axial coordinate. It is shown that the stresses in the contact zone must be found from the solution of a mixed integral equation, which includes functions that describe the profiles of contacting surfaces. The solution constructed using a special approach allows us to take into account all the features of the resulting equation and find stresses in cases where the profiles are described by complex rapidly changing functions. © 2022 The Authors. Keywords: Contact problem; coatings; complex profiles; pipe; integral equation 1. Introduction To prevent corrosion of pipes, internal coatings made of a material other than the material of the main layer are often used. For example, a metal pipe can be covered from the inside with a layer of polymer material. The thickness of the resulting thin layer can be different in different sections of the pipe. This may be due to the technological 15th International Conference on Mechanics, Resource and Diagnostics of Materials and Stru tures On accounting complex forms of surfaces in the task of interaction of a rigid insert and pipe with internal coating Kirill E.
