The results for the two tested configurations are presented in Figs. 10 and 11. The FE simulations was stopped when a crack reached the edge of the specimen. Crack length and fatigue life data obtained from the numerical model showed good correlation with the experimental results as summarized in Table 5. Specimens analysed with SimModeler Crack produced similar results to the experiment in regards to fatigue life and crack propagation path for all five cracks. Furthermore, Figures 10 and 11 show an overlay of the crack path produced by the numerical model (in blue) and the experiment (in red).
