4. Conclusions In this article an exhaustive analysis was performed on the evolution of the micro-damages caused by the cold drawing process itself in the colonies and lamellae of the pearlitic microstructure. Both the sinuous curvatures generated in the cementite lamellae that are not oriented in favor of the drawing direction, pseudocolonies, and the fragmentation of the cementite lamellae present in all types of pearlitic colonies are a key fact in the evolution of the pearlitic microstructure and its micro-defects, since as the drawing process progresses, the aforesaid micro-defects increase noticeably. The analysis of the micro-damages produced by cold drawing, as well as their evolution, is key to understanding the choice of fracture paths during the breaking process of these steels. The evolution from micro-decolonization to intercolonial tearing, as the cold drawing process progresses, produces areas of discontinuity in the pearlitic matrix and preferential places for the progression of the fracture.
