2.3. Materials Three cylinders were tested at 28 days and the average compressive strength was found to be 38.78. Table 2 shows the summary of the test results. Three steel reinforcement bars were tested and their mechanical properties are provided in Table 2. The average yield strength, ultimate strength and modulus of elasticity have been calculated as 540.14 MPa, 640.17 MPa and 199.97 GPa, respectively as shown in Table 3. Three AA coupon specimens were tested and their mechanical properties are shown in Table 3 (ASTM 2016). The average yield strength, ultimate strength, and elongation at failure have been calculated as 145 MPa, 295 MPa and 24.3%, respectively as shown in Table 3. For anchoring the AA plates, CFRP U-wraps were used. The used CFRP U-wraps are SikaWrap-300C that has a thickness of 1.7 mm and tensile strength of 3900 MPa (Sika 2003). The epoxy used for bonding the CFRP U-wraps is Sikadur 330 (Sika 2009) with a 30 MPa tensile strength, while the epoxy used to bond the AA plates to the soffit of the beam is Sikadur-30LP (Sika 2006) with a tensile strength of 17 MPa. The mechanical properties of the CFRP U-wraps sheets and the epoxy resins used in this study are given in Table 4, as provided by the manufacturers.
