Prospects for the use of unloaded parts of transportation and storage of CO 2 in carbon capture and storage (CCS) systems are considered. The mathematical model for estimating the main parameters of the process of filling the pipeline with carbon dioxide with their subsequent optimization is proposed. 1. Introduction In recent decades, the world economy has faced a powerful challenge – global warming caused by greenhouse gas emissions, which continues to rise sustainably. Most of CO 2 emissions are caused by energy generation received after burning fossil fuels. The world has begun to develop a climate policy strived to eliminate climate change, which is reflected in the European Green Deal and the Paris Agreement of 2015.
