In Memoriam

The paper is dedicated to the memory of Professors Dominique Francois and Keith Miller, masters and friends, whose enthusiastic and forward-looking action allowed the development of the European Structural Integrity Society (ESIS), formerly the European Group on Fracture (EGF). The paper is also dedicated to the memory of Professor Dr. Robert Goldstein, master and friend, and founder of Russian fracture mechanics.
