One of the possible methods to prevent water inflow into mine workings is injection of grouting material in order to create antileakage screen ensuring waterproofing of fault zone in WPS. Methodical approaches to estimation of pressure from grouting contribution into alteration of WPS stress-strain state are discussed and main problem statements are introduced in the paper. The use of suggested approaches is illustrated for the case of hazardous situation at south-east part of BKRU-4 mine (Berezniki, Russia). Mathematical modelling of different scenarios of grouting material injection and rock mass response in the concerned area were held out and maximum safe pressure of grout pumping were found. © 2021 The Authors. Introduction The inflow of weakly saturated brines and fresh water in mine openings can be considered as a main reason for potash mines collapse (Prugger and Prugger, 1991; Whyatt and Varley, 2008: Shokin, 1969; Warren, 2017; Laptev, 2009, Baryakh et al. 2013). It is usually preceded by fracture formation that goes through the whole of WPS overlying mined layer. The most common method for prevention of fault zone appearance is backfilling which decreases maximum possible subsidence and hence limits rock deformation in the vicinity of mined areas.
