used as a control strengthened specimen. The other two beams were externally strengthened in flexure with mortar bonded GSM sheets, but one of which had U-Wrap CFRP end anchors (SMM-EA), while the other one was anchored

with U-Wrap CFRP intermediate anchors (SMM-IA). All the strengthened beams had the same flexural strengthening system, which consisted of 2 layers of 110 mm wide GSM sheets externally bonded with mortar over a length of 1600 mm, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3. The SMM-EA specimen had, in addition to the flexure reinforcement, 2 layers of U Wrap CFRP end-anchors that were 200 mm wide and were placed at both ends of the GSM sheets, as shown in Fig. 3 (a). The SMM-IA specimen was also flexural reinforced and had 1 layer of intermediate CFRP U-Wrap anchors that were 100 mm wide and spaced every 200 mm C-C, as shown in Fig. 3 (b).
