These properties are identified by а comparison of an analytical model with experimentally observed delamination. Present paper deals with study the problem of a ceramic coating on a Co-Cr dental alloy substrate under tensile loading conditions. The stresses distribution in the coating and the coating-substrate interface has been analyzed. Based on the shear lag model, analytical solution was deduced. The effect of the factors, influencing o n the stress distributions, such as mismatch of Poisson’s ratio between the porcelain coating and Co-Cr substrate, are taken into account. Analytical equations for evaluation of the normal stresses in the coating and shear stresses at the coating-substrate interface are used. The stresses are determined and compared with those, given by the analytical model proposed by S. Frank et al. The normal stresses in both models are in good agreement. Present research explains the role of the stress transfer mechanism at the coating-substrate interface. Following experimental investigations are needed for validation of the two-dimensional analytical model. © 2020 The Authors. Published by ELSEVIER B.V.
