Conclusion In this paper, a first study has been carried out in order to numerically analyse metamaterials. It can be concluded, that there are optimum dimensions for the pentamode’s rod in order to have similar behaviour with isolators. Our results are very close to results from other researchers, which have analytical approaches. It is also observed, that the pentamode configuration which is made with metallic materials should be used in the seismic protection design and aircraft structures, while the pentamodes which are manufactured from polymers is preferable that they should be used in biomechanics applications. In a future study, we will try to confront metamaterials used in aircraft structures and in static and dynamic loadings.
