The comparison of out of plane deformation between numerical and experimental analysis is shown in Fig. 10. The errors corresponding to the two wings were found to be equal to 0.09 mm and 0.13 mm, respectively. The direction of deformation was predicted correctly.

It should be noted that on the side where the value of the wing deformation was found to be 0.19 mm, three more runs were deposited. Probably, even the numerical deformation would have been different if the actual welding run sequence was included. This level of detail is however against the spirit of the proposed simplified methods.
