1st International Conference on Integrity and Lifetime in Extreme Environment (ILEE-2019) The effect of intergranular corrosion on the performance of welded joints during long-life performance Sleptsov O.I. a, *, Ermakov B.S. b , Ermakov S.B. b a Larionov Institute of the Physical-Technical Problems of the North of the Siberian Branch of the RAS (IPTPN), department of welding technology and metallurgy, Oktyabrskaya St, 1, Yakutsk, 677890, Russian Federation b Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University, Politekhnicheskaya St, 29, St. Petersburg, 195251, Russian Federation Corrosion damage is one of the most frequent causes of accidents and damages of complex technical systems, including gas and oil refining systems. The work addresses the issues of the influence of structural factors on the development of intergranular corrosion in stainless chromium-nickel steels used for the manufacture of large-dimensional equipment installed outdoors. The transfer of processing plants to the northern regions has required a new approach to the reliability, durability and performance of both main oil and gas processing systems and auxiliary equipment. The paper considers the problems of corrosion damageability of materials of ejection devices for cooling circulating water with a significant content of highly aggressive chlorine compounds, sulfur and active oxygen, operating in cold climates. It is shown that an increase in the corrosion resistance of chromium-nickel steels operating under conditions of the Extreme North can be achieved by refining their chemical composition, which allows to regulate the content of elements that accelerate the occurrence of a tendency to develop corrosion defects. The effect of these defects on the change in the mechanical properties of nickel-chromium steels at normal temperatures and temperatures of climatic cold has been investigated. 1st International Conference on Integrity and Lifetime in Extreme Environment (ILEE-2019) The effect of intergranular corrosion on the performance of welded joints during long-life performance Sleptsov O.I. a, *, Ermakov B.S. b , Ermakov S.B. b a Larionov Institute of the Physical-Technical Problems of the North of the Siberian Branch of the RAS (IPTPN), department of welding t chnolo y and metallurgy, Oktyabrskaya St, 1, Yakutsk, 677890, Russian Federation b Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University, Politekhnicheskaya St, 29, St. Petersburg, 195251, Russian Federation Abstract Corrosio damage is one of the most frequent causes f accidents and damages of complex technical syste s, including g s and oil refining systems. T e work addresses the issues of the influence of structural factors on the development of intergranular corrosion in stainless chromium-nickel steels used for the manufacture of large-dimensional equipment inst lled outdoors. The transfer of processing lants to the northern regions has required a new ap roach to the reliability, durability and performance of both main oil and gas processing systems and a xiliary equipment. The paper considers the problems of corrosion damageability of materials of ejection devices for cooling circulating water ith a sig ificant content of highly aggressive chlorine compounds, sulfur and ctive oxygen, operating in cold climates. It is shown that an incr ase in t corrosion resistance f chromium-nickel steels operating under conditions of the Extreme North can be achieved by refining their chemical composition, which allows to regulate the content of elements that accelerate the occurrenc of a tendency to devel p corrosion defects. The effect of these defects on the change in the mechanical properties of nickel-chromium steels at normal temperatures and temperatures of climatic cold has been investigated. Abstract
