Fig. 13 shows the frequency domain weld fatigue analysis flowchart. The blue boxes are the required data, as the modal results, the generalized displacements (or modal coordinates), the input PSDs, material properties and analysis definition. The white boxes represent the data processing that results in life and damage prediction (green box). The Battelle Structural Stress Method takes place in the dashed rectangle below and the Battelle SN Master Curve is used in conjunction with the Stress PDF from any appropriate frequency domain fatigue method.

5. Verification Case Study Commercial vehicles weighting more than 9 tons commonly use pneumatic brake systems that basically dissipate the energy of compressed air (stored in one or more brake chambers) into friction of pads against brake drums. These brake chambers are mounted on the rear axle of the vehicle as shown in Fig. 14. The present case study is interested in the brake chamber support which is subjected to dynamic loads coming from the ground and the vibration of the unsprung mass.
