Combined membrane and bending stress intensity due to pressure is given in Fig. 4 and the same due to deflection is given in Fig. 5. In general, the higher stresses in the bellows are observed at root/crest. The stresses and the stains induced in the bellows at the root and resulting cycle life is estimated and given below. The life of the bellows estimated as per RCC-MR is given in Table 2.
