4. Results and discussion Figure 4 presents M results as a function of a/W for plane strain conditions and n = 10. It can be realized that M depends on a/W , but also on the dimensionless radius in which is evaluated (the figure contains results for r = 0.5, r = 1 and r = 2). It also depends on the adopted deviation percentage when compared to the MBL model (10% or 15% presented here). In general, for most geometries, an increase in a/W causes the decrease of M , which means larger stress triaxiality and higher limits for the validity of J -integral – J lim - it is in accordance with J-Q theory.
