4. Conclusions Based on the analytical result of this study, the following conclusions are drawn:

 Utilization of shear walls can contribute to decreasing lateral displacements, storey drift, time period, and increasing stiffness of the structure  By comparing shear walls at center model and shear walls at center and edges model, it is found that shear walls should be placed in both short and long directions.  Shear walls become more effective when placed symmetrically apart from the center of mass of the building.  Shear walls at the periphery show better performances.
