were used across the extension range, while only 8-polynomial was tested for the latter. The tension-extension results from these approaches were compared to OCIMF (2008). Large errors above 15% are possible at low tensions (up to 5% of the MBL), but for tensions above 5%, errors are within 1.5% when using 8 polynomials. This is below the common 2% engineering limit, keeping in mind that DNVGL-OS-E301 (2015) requires at least 10% of MBL for pretension to avoid snapping loads.
