Abaqus 6.17 was employed to investigate the fatigue indicator and analyse the variations under different configurations considering the misalignment effect on the basis of elastic mechanics theory. Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio of materials are set as 206 GPa and 0.3, respectively. Fig. 2 shows the illustration of axial and angular misalignment effect in LCWJs. In the Fig. 2(c), it exhibits the 2D FEM model dimensions and mesh details of SED model and ENS models. the requirement of mesh size satisfies the needs of IIW recommendations which are appropriate for the calculations of HS and ENS. It is noted that the radius of the control area R 0 depends on the material properties, and calculated by the following equation:
