5.1 Discussion According to the deflection angle formula by Richard [34], the tension-torsion loading condition is expected to cause a deflection angle that increases with the mode-mixity, namely it increases with the to ratio, which in turn corresponds to an enhanced mode II/III loading condition. Looking at the last two columns in Table 2, related to and , respectively, in the case of a phase shift 0° and 40° , it is possible to conclude that:
