Figure 10 demonstrates 3D surface interaction effect of welding current and electrode force. The role of the electrode force in forming nuggets in the RSW process is crucial. In general, by increasing the welding current with increasing in electrode force initially the strength increases. After reaching a maximum amount, nugget strength decreases. At higher electrode force there is a further decrease in strength.
