The system supports up to 200 users, allowing them to access, analyze, and review data from anywhere, thus enhancing collaboration and efficiency. With cloud integration, the ARGO platform ensures real-time updates and data accessibility, streamlining tunnel management and enabling proactive maintenance strategies. Operators and engineers can remotely retrieve, analyze, and update tunnel data, providing real-time insights across a vast network of tunnels. The system also features seamless cloud-based reporting, enabling users to generate, share, and access comprehensive reports from any location. This centralized approach to data management and reporting improves operational efficiency and supports better decision-making in large-scale tunnel management. The ARGO Tunnel Management System integrates multiple technological solutions for efficient infrastructure management. ARGO is connected to several key systems and tools, including the Geographic Information System (GIS) platform of ASPI, which handles the company's asset registry. It also links to a tunnel inspection management application, allowing for systematic inspections. Additionally, the system interfaces with a document management solution, OnBase, and a dynamic reporting and analysis platform, TIBCO, which supports data-driven decision-making. The integration of laser scanners, 3D-models viewers, and public asset registries like AINOP further strengthens ARGO's capacity to manage tunnel assets comprehensively. These connections streamline the monitoring, inspection, reporting, and maintenance of infrastructure, promoting efficient and data-driven operations. 2.1. Asset registry The foundation of the ARGO Tunnel Management System is its asset registry, which serves as a centralized database containing detailed information about each tunnel in ASPI's network. This registry includes data such as the tunnel’s location, length, construction materials and other relevant structural and operational characteristics. For instance, it documents the specific geological features encountered along the tunnel's route, such as soil type, rock formations, and groundwater conditions, which are crucial for understanding potential risks and structural integrity. Additionally, the asset registry captures information about the various systems installed within the tunnel, including lighting, ventilation, and drainage systems, detailing their specifications, installation dates, and maintenance histories. Moreover, the registry encompasses critical safety features like emergency exits, fire suppression systems, and communication equipment, ensuring that all emergency protocols are easily accessible and up to date. By maintaining an up to date and comprehensive asset registry, ARGO ensures that all relevant information is readily available for inspections, maintenance, planning, and risk assessments. This data-driven approach allows ASPI to adopt proactive strategies to extend the lifespan of the tunnels and minimize risks associated with aging infrastructure.
2.2. Laser Scanner Surveys
The system incorporates advanced laser scanner surveys into the inspection process enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of tunnel surface evaluations. Laser scanning technology captures intricate three-dimensional (3D) models of the tunnel surfaces by collecting millions of points in a 3D-point cloud. This highly detailed point cloud accurately represents the tunnel's physical environment, providing a comprehensive dataset for further analyses.
