4. FEA Simulations The EDC inverter's robustness to vibration is assessed using an FEA model. This FEA model is composed of the following geometric elements: the printed circuit board, the main SMD and through-hole electronic components, the main mechanical parts of the compressor such as the housing, cover and internal parts, so as to have a mass and rigidity representative of the complete product. Particular care is taken in modeling the printed circuit board, which is made of a composite material [2]. The harmonic analysis is performed by two different methods such as full and mode superposition method (MSUP). The full harmonic method is an accurate method to perform a harmonic analysis without any base modal analysis but the simulation time is very high compared to the mode superposition method.
