undercut criteria for 2 mm plates is 0.1 T and apply only to quality level C, while for 16 mm plates it is 0.03125 T and it is the same for levels B and C .

5. Angular misalignment Misalignment induces secondary bending stress, reducing fatigue strength. It can be seen that angular misalignment, measured with the Winteria® laser scanner, is more significant in 2 mm plates than in 16 mm plates, especially for weld quality C, Fig. 6. This also in accordance with previous studies (Ghanadi et al., 2025), which showed that correcting angular misalignment in the fatigue assessment is necessary in order to improve fatigue estimations.
