X10CrMoVNb9-1 presents a promising alternative to repair techniques involving PWHT, offering potential benefits in terms of reduced downtime and costs. However, significant challenges remain, particularly concerning the microstructural stability, crack resistance, and long-term mechanical performance of cold-repaired components. Future research should focus on mechanical testing at elevated temperatures, a short-term test at elevated temperatures needs to be performed on specimens with welding technology as described in this paper to determine the rate of degradation of the materials. Microstructural analysis should focus on detailed analysis of the HAZ and weld metal region, especially on the martensitic steel, as it is a critical place for fracture and degradation of the material.
