using the linear thermo-elasticity, von-Mises yield criterion, isotropic strain hardening, strain rate hardening, and softening due to adiabatic impacts. The identical von- Mises stress σ of the Johnson -Cook model is expressed as Equation 1. ̅( ̅ , ̅̇ , ̂) = [ + ( ̅ ) ] [1 + ∁ ( ̅̇ ̇ )][1− ̂ ] (1) This section investigates the impact of axial compression on sandwich panel tube structures in passenger ships. Simulations examine the von-Mises stress distribution in mild steel with varying mesh sizes (1 mm to 15 mm), as shown in Figures 5 to 12. The objective is to understand the material response to axial compression stress in impact scenariosand its stress distribution patterns. This study contributes to improving structural safety in the design of sandwich panel tube structures in commercial ships.
