5. Limitation and Recommendation for future work The following points enumerate a few limitations of using the combination of approaches mentioned in previous sections of the paper and recommendation for future work: • There are few limitations such as fatigue induced crack damage mechanism on primary structure steel weld connection and crack propagation mechanism in primary reinforced concrete member may require application of progressive failure approach, hence selection for appropriate RBWS approach at the start of risk assessment process is very important. Engineering judgement shall be deployed to select the right approach for assessment. • The accuracy of RBWS method is based on quality of inspection data & reasonable engineering judgement by qualified engineers. In the absence of necessary inspection data, wrong assumption & decision made by unqualified, inexperience people significantly affect the outcome of RBWS method (Alvarado, 2012). • For a large structure, risk assessment of large numbers of anomalies is a very tedious and time-consuming activity. Hence, for future work, it is recommended to utilize an AI based tool to automate the manual efforts of segregating the inspection photographs, identify the anomalies, assign the risk & plot them on risk matrix. An accurate and efficient AI based tool will greatly reduce the manual efforts, time and associated cost. Acknowledgements I would like to express my gratitude to Quest Global Pvt.
