4. Conclusions The experimental results highlight the significant impact of alkali treatment and graphene coating on the tensile properties of the two selected types of vegetal fibers. Alkali treatment shows a regularization effect on the stress-strain curve of the fibers, while graphene coating amplifies these effects, especially in hemp fibers. Improvement in tensile strength and elastic modulus compared to the untreated rough fibers is also obtained. These findings highlight the potential of these treatments to enhance the mechanical properties of vegetal fibers, offering valuable insights for various applications in the field of composite materials manufacture for structural reinforcement.
