Pressure cycling tests (qualification tests):
The inner side of the long seam weld is subjected to maximum stresses [13]. The peak cyclic strain values obtained in long seam inner weld side during MEOP and proof pressure cycling tests for RW1, RW2 and parent metal reference are shown in Fig. 20 to 24. The test article withstood both cyclic pressure tests without any global yielding and the peak strain values achieved were under the marginal limits. Strains in pressure cycling tests were benign and linear. Only exception was strain gauge S39-H which malfunctioned during the test, which showed abnormal values. All the values were confirming to specifications. Post pressure cycle DP and RT results were satisfactory and showed no signs of crack or weld distortion. MSLD leak test results achieved were under the maximum specified value. Based on this test article was processed for further qualification.
