2. Load carrying capacity of Basalt strip strengthened slab was about 56.48% higher when compared to the load carrying capacity of the control slab without strengthening. This is due to the radial orientation of the laminate on both side of the slab that reduced the failure and increased the load carrying capacity. 3. Load carrying capacity of BFRP (Basalt fibre reinforced polymer) fan strengthened slab was about 43.54% higher than the control specimen and the drilled fan withstand the load to a greater extend over the impact loading. 4. Addition of polypropylene fibre to the slab reduced sudden failure of specimen when impact loading is applied. Crack pattern is 45-degree shear crack due to the application of impact loading and the crack has reduced for specimen strengthened with basalt laminate and BFRP fan when compared to the control slab.
