(c) SP2-SBF Fig 13 Crack pattern of all the slab against line loading

When strengthening of concrete structure is done addition of polypropylene fibre has given a very good result as it has increased the ductility to certain extend. The slab SP3-SBL further have very less propagation and formation of cracks when compared to the control specimen as the laminated basalt strip over the top and bottom surface of the slab had prevented the crack formation. Shear crack is observed in the slab strengthen with strip but of less number. Since the load has reduced slowly that indicates ductile failure for two strengthened specimens with basalt fan and basalt fabric laminates respectively when compared with control specimen. Fig 13 shows the crack pattern. 3.4 Deformation Deformation is the maximum deflection the slab has undergone when line loading is applied. SP1-CS specimen has undergone the maximum deformation when line loading is applied. Comparing the slab SP2-SBF and SP3-SBL with the control specimen the deformation is much higher for control slab and the strengthened slab has experienced less deformation when compared to the control slab. Fig 14 shows the deformation of all the slab when load is applied that is the impact loading.
